PROJECT TITLE
Culture Change - Quality Improvement

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The funds will be used to upgrade each of the 33 resident rooms with aesthetically pleasing, medically appropriate
furniture. Due to the magnitude of project size, it was feasibly broken into three separate projects, one hallway at
a time. The first upgrading project will improve the quality of life of 22 current residents and innumerable future
residents.

ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND
Mission: The Good Samaritan Society's mission is to share God's love in word and deed by providing shelter and
supportive services to older persons and others in need, believing that in "Christ's Love Everyone is Someone." Its
purpose is to share God's love with the elderly of our community by providing the best shelter and supportive
services possible.
Good Samaritan began in Arthur, North Dakota in 1922. Now it is the largest non-profit senior care organization
with more than 230 locations around the country, which offers Christian Communities of Care in which seniors find
many opportunities for a meaningful and full life. Good Samaritan Society- Artesia is part of the larger
organization, but exists as a stand alone, financially independent operation, with 65 bed skilled nursing facility and
a licensed Administrator.
